Our daughter has a home in Tempe, AZ. She is presently in the Peace Corps stationed in Morocco. Her yearly income is around $3200. We have rented out her home in Tempe (for LESS than total of the monthly payments and monthly property management fees) but since her purchase of the home in late 2005 the home is upside down in value to loan ratio. She owes approx $200K and purchased the home for $225K. There is no way she will be able to afford the payments when she returns to the USA in mid 2010. Would she be a good candidate for a Short Sale? When she arrives home in mid 2010 her payment will reset quite a bit higher than it already is.
